The Meaning of life...
So many different aspects to look at, and not one answer is right nor is it wrong.  For the meaning of life is an interpretation to each individual.  What I might see as the meaning of life, may not be the same to someone else.

I come from a very diverse background.  Happy times, hard times, verbal, physical abuse. 3 marriages, 3 divorces . I have buried my father when he was 59, I buried my mother when she was 30.  Buried a sister when she was only 22.  Life has so many different meanings and so many different paths that may be taken, all of which have so many different outcomes.  Life and death walk hand in hand on a daily basis, and you may take death and move forward with your life as if nothing ever happened, or you may take it as a direct insult to your very core being and rebel against anything and everything that is good.  There are some that I know that do life the same way, a new birth in the family is looked upon as a new burden and not as  joy to be celebrated.  All different aspects, opinions, view points...

The meaning of life to me is as simple as this:  God gives me the gift of opening my eyes to greet an new day, with new energy and vitality.  He gives me 24 hours to spend wisely.  I can waste it, if  I choose to, or I can devote that 24 hours to giving something of meaning to my fellow man, I can help out a neighbor or a stranger, or I can spend a majority (or even just a piece of that time) on my knees in prayer, or walking beside Him in contemplation.

Like the meaning of a word in a dictionary, there is nothing to define the word except more words, the meaning of life cannot be simply answered.  For this woman, the meaning of life is a simple word, one that does not necessarily pertain to every living thing, because for some, it is hindered and for others it just does not exist in their vocabulary, that simple word is FREEWILL.

Life to me, is freewill, a God-given right to exist in world that He has so graciously given to all of us.  To share and be shared, to make a difference for the better in the lives of those around us.

Jo Walker is a mother of five wonderful children ages ranging from 18 to 31.  She has two wonderful grandchildren, and a wonderful man in her life.  Her first article, "What's  Mother To Do?" is but a small  portion of what she has dealt with in her lifetime as a parent.  She has other stories that she has  written as well as poetry.

Writing is a theraputic for her, as she is not one who readily talks about the things that go on inside.  She hopes that her writing, in some way will move someone or help someone.  God Bless

Jo, great article! I especially related to what you said, "...The meaning of life to me is as simple as this: God gives me the gift of opening my eyes to greet an new day, with new energy and vitality. He gives me 24 hours to spend wisely...." Or, unwisely. Thanks for the inspiration; it's we who complicate this what we call life.

I couldn't agree with you more on the statement of, it is we who complicate that what we call life. Glad to know my articles are being read and are of some inspiration, as that is my desire, to be able to touch someone with either words, or through my music. thank you for our comment, God Be with You and yours! Jo, great article. My feelings about life coincide with the "KISS" said in the 12 step programs: Keep It Simple Stupid. Thank you for giving your viewpoint.

Thank you for your comment! I too think that the acronym of KISS is on that is meant to be lived by. That and remember, Take what god has given and do the best that you can do, because He asks for nothing more than your best. God be with you and yours! Jo
